- Year 2439, annual summary & thoughts. -

'No valid plans for the future can be made by those who have no capacity for living now.'


Taking over a leadership wasn't without preparations & a historical study.

Our ancestors achieved much - colonized 6 of our galaxy's star systems - with 7 planets, initially protected Sol system against pirates, built basics of our infrastructure & technology.

Last of their actions showed too much of a hurry, however - yes, they did defeat a space monster nicknamed 'Giant Squid' in the Crux System, but left the Sol planets without a blockade to stop the pirate fleet. Their defense was that the missle bases in Sol were already built, that our modern-armed fleets can catch pirate fleet as well, if they detract. Thankfully everything seems to confirm their words, but we'll see how things evolve in a future still. For now pirate maneuvers seem to make them to fall in our traps - let's hope they do not hold too many suprises for us, for our military fleets, and consequentially - for our civilians.

There's also a danger of alien contact possibilities & suprises, i should mention as well.

Current state of research can be summarized as well-spread among science's fields, with a versatile approach.

Automated Factories (Physics) with Colony Base (Deep-Space Exploration) infrastructure helped to kick-start our colonies. There are not enough of hands to work with new worlds, and not every colony can enjoy proteins & nutrient value of a defeated Squid.

Research Laboratories (Government) is a good start into the sciences competition with alien races. There are rumours of technologically advanced Psilon aliens, we do not have official contact with them as of yet, however.

Xeno-Relations allowed us to establish a few of embassies with alien races.

Colonial Revenue Service (Economics) to raise colony budget will shine in future as soon as population grows. Yet it added a little already, so we can muster a well-funded work-force where's needed the most in times of crises.

Fleet-related research will be covered in another part of this a summary.



Research Tree.



Our fleet's modern designs focuses on proton torpedo offence with a little of computer guided point defense systems to shoot down enemy missles & smaller crafts (fighters, bombers, heavy fighters). Our cruisers design also features a nuclear bomb to use against planetary defenses, infrastructure & population. Advanced Engineering research efforts allowed us to protect our fleets with Tritanium Armor.

Arguably too narrow weapon focus can be easily countered, but the sheer firepower, accuracy & range of a proton torpedo does it's job so far - even against superior armoring & shields. It's not so easily countered by ECM systems and point-defenses as standard missles, as well. Against a Squid, worked perfectly, at least.

Currently, we have the capacity for building ships of the three scales: Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers ... perhaps in future this will change with our scientific efforts.

Diplomatic efforts of our former leaders resulted in a uneasy neutrality with three alien races. Embassies were established, trade agreements were made.

Bulrathi (Red on map) are a bear-like warrior race, their great strenght allows them to carry heavy weapons & equipment in a ground combat battle-fronts. They enjoy a resource-rich homeworld, their ecological focus allows them to exploit planetary resources efficiently as well.

Sakkra (Green on map) are lizards that breed like rabbits, expand quickly, and seem to favor the jungle or swamp type planets to dwell on. They barely talk, we have a diplomatic advantages against them.

Darlok (Purple on map) are an alien shapeshifter race that possesses ship cloaking stealth technology, have dangerous spying/sabotage capability, are apt diplomats as well. Potentially our worst rivals, especially if they steal too many technologies from a Psilon race. Recently, however - they suffered a major blow, when a star went supernova in one of their systems, decimating all life there. We still trade with them, as they requested.

We've sent commands to our embassies, results were only slightly favourable for now.

Sakkran diplomats came with a tech-trade agreement, as well as with a non-aggression pact signed.

Other alien races do not agree to trades so easily on equal terms.

- Year 2440-2443. -

Mrrshan Contact appeared, a member of a sun-worshipping militiant catlike race with a fairly strong diplomats. Their ground forces seem to be on par with Bulrathi, just more numerous. Initial reports predicted that they focus on the war-fleet related research & strive to maitain large fleet as well.

Future will show more about relation between us & them.

We still have no official contact with Psilon, however.

In 2443 a pirate fleet went out from a warp-travel into the 'Thraa' system, where it was captured by one of our 'PT Frigate' ships.

Video-logs show that battle was short, after our opening with a Proton Torpedo launch, they responded with beam weapons & missles. Beam weapons missed due to distance & other factors, missles were captured by our point defense systems. Then Proton Torpedos reached target, caused enemy ship's explosion.

Genetic Engineering Research brought us innovation possibilities.

Considering cloning too immoral, our scientists focused their efforts on Microbiotics that have uses both in military/defense, as well as in the civilian/colony growth sector.

These years brought in more of technology advancements - partly traded, partly researched.

We've colonized one planet more as well - not in the Crux system yet, however.

Genetic Mutations Research helped to uncover latent telepathic abilities of the human race - should make for better spies.

On top of that, it allows for terraforming our planets - very costly but also very profitable endeavor in the long run.

Our negotiations proceed for peace & prosperity.

We did decline a war-strings proposal of Darlok Cabal against Psilon Quanta.

We did establish trade relations with all races we have contact with. It's a huge increase in credits income per year. Trade relations need to be confirmed & renewed every 20 years.

Succesfully defended Arlyehm Prime against pirate raid. Missle base was adequate.
